Turbine Parts Cleaning
Curran International provides on-site/in-situ grit blasting and glass bead dry abrasive blasting for steam and gas turbines. The turbine blasting surface prep provides the power station with optimal cleaning of critical turbine components yielding high integrity NDE/NDT inspections. Curran International has provided power generation clients with qualified crews for more than 30 years, and has the capital equipment inventory to support maintenance outages anywhere in North America. We have long standing turbine blasting contracts with major client utilities, and have experience on a wide range of OEM turbines, GE, Siemens/Westinghouse, and Toshiba. We perform work to meet all OEM specifications.
Curran’s turbine cleaning method provides predictable turbine inspection results the first time around and eliminates re-work. Our highly trained turbine blasting technicians supply all of the equipment necessary to perform the cleaning. Curran International will set up containment tents and dust collection to ensure no fugitive grit or dust escapes and damages surrounding equipment and allows other crafts to work within close proximity to the blasting tent. The turbine blasting will remove all turbine scale while not removing metal from the trailing edges of the blades. Once the turbine blasting is complete; all of the turbine components cleaned are turned over to the client’s NDE or NDT team. All blasting containment is demobilized by the blasting crew, and spent abrasive collected in client provided waste bins.
